Teacher appreciation day

I am so lucky that both of my kids have really good teachers. This year I got to decorate Jaycee and Addison's (in the picture) teachers bulletin board for Teacher Appreciation Day. I love to do fun crazy stuff like this. The board said "Mrs. Hafen is MOOO-velous, and on the apples all around the boarder I had the kids in her classes write why they love their teacher. I think it turned out pretty cute!

So I let a friend of mine talk me into making her husband a Gnome cake for his birthday. (They

love gnomes:) I think it turned out really cute. The cake itself is a carrot cake. I frosted it with a cream cheese frosting. The mushrooms I made out of marshmallow fondant. The cute little gnome on the top I made from Sculpy. So he is not edible, but I couldn't get the detail I wanted out of the fondant. I think it turned out really cute! And as always thank you Mom for all your help! I couldn't do it with out you!

Egg Decorating Re-do

This is our Easter egg decorating re-do. Our first experience of the year turned out to be a bust. I had every planned... We invited over my sister in-law and her kids, made yummy chicken noodle soup, and I planned on taking lots of cute pictures. We got as far as my sister in-law coming over. Then DISASTER!!! Mckaylee comes running in the house "EMERGENCY! EMERGENCY! Pugslee's eye fell out" yes that's right pugslee (our dog) eye fell out! Apparently she was playing with our much larger dog and some how it fell our, yep totally sick! So I scooped our dog up called my mom who was just down the street and she drove us to the emergency vet. I left my poor sister Natalie with all seven traumatized kids. Natalie was great, She got dinner on the table, died eggs, & comforted kids.$400 dollars later pugslee's eye is back in and she is home. I still don't think she can see, but that's a whole other story. So a couple of days later we have our redo... I didn't get many cute pics, but at least it was less tragic.:)

Baby Animal Days in Logan

This is probably my family's favorite spring tradition. Spring being questionable in that sentence. Going to baby animal days was the one thing we got to do over spring break before we got snowed in for the rest of the week. The kids love holding all of the baby animals. Coleston was maybe a little to enthusiastic, as you can see in the picture of him holding the duckling. But no worries!!! No animals were harmed in the making of this blog!

Jaycelyn's Polly Pocket Birthday Cake

This Cake was really fun to make. It was one of the easiest I have made, and I think it turned out really cute. The Cake itself was a vanilla cake mix and we divided it into four separate bowls and then added food coloring. Then my mom and I just started pouring the different colors into the cake pan. That is what gave it the fun swirl of colors. The kids absolutely loved it. When I cut into the cake I am not exaggerating when I say the kids "ooood" and "awwwwd". For the frosting my mom and I made a butter cream frosting dyed yellow. We made a marshmallow fondant for the flowers (messy but super easy), divided it and added food coloring. Then we just rolled it out and used a flower cookie cutter to cut the shapes. To finish it off we put a Polly Pocket on the top. The best part is it tasted really YUMMY!

Jaycelyn 6th Birthday

When we asked Jaycelyn what she wanted for her birthday she said "A surprise party!" so okay, now I not only have to plan a party, but some how it has to be a surprise as well. After much debating we ended up having it at Classic Fun Center. The guest all arrived at five to get ready to surprise her. Ryan took Jaycelyn to do some shopping and then he told her they could go walk around Classic for a few minutes. When they walked in she was so surprised! After it was all over she said she had the best birthday ever. Hopefully not all of her birthdays will have to be a surprise:)

Disney Land

Grandma and Grandpa Vickers took us to Disneyland in January. We took two days to drive to California stopping in Mesquite overnight. The kids watched movies the whole way and it went by pretty quickly. We were in Disneyland and California Adventure for three days. The weather was beautiful and the parks weren't to crowded, expecially in the morning. Mckaylee's favorite ride was Splash Mountain. She made Grandpa and Daddy go on it over, and over, and over. I think she liked it just because they got soaking wet! :) Jaycelyn's favorite thing was all of the characters, expecially the princesses. Mckaylee thinks she is a little old for them, so Jaycelyn and I got to spend a little time just the two of us and I thought that was pretty fun. Coleston wanted to go on everything, but of course he was to little for a lot of the rides. He was just the right size for the "Bugs Life" little rides. We had to go back two days in a row for those and we had to drag him away each time. Ryan enjoyed the parks, but was happy he still got to watch the Patriots on Sunday in the playoffs...then they LOST. That wasn't very nice of them. I loved the Haunted Mansion, and the fruit bars - until I got one that was way to cold and froze my mouth on it just like the Christmas Story. Funny yes, but it was pretty painful too. The drive home was going pretty good so we decided we could make it all in one night. That was a bad idea... about an hour after Mesquite (where we were planning on stoping) all HELL broke loose. I am going to leave it at that and just say "Yes, the children are all still alive". Next time WE WILL STOP! Thank you Grandma and Grandpa for a very fun and memoriable trip, we love you!

Playing in the Snow

I know why I only post on my blog every six months or so... Its because it is a big pain in the BUTT!!! Well anyways...the kids had so much fun playing in the snow this winter. They were in and out of the house every five minute, and my kitchen floor was constently wet from the melting snow tracked in. We had snowmen in every shape and size decorating our yard. There were always more then one so the snowmen weren't lonley! :)

Swimming lessons

Ryan and I decided to sign the girls up for swim lessons at the Clearfield Aquatic Center. The girls have allot of fun but it is a ton of work for me. The lessons are two times a week, and I all ready feel like a stinken taxi, but I guess that is just what moms are for.

The girls are both doing really good they are little fish. I cant believe the things they have already learned to do. They can't wait to go to Cherry Hill this summer and show off there new found skills. Mostly I think they are going to scare the crap out of me. So long nice relaxing summers sitting by the kiddie pool watching the kids play in two feet of water. I can't believe how big they are getting.

As a mother of three small children I always feel like I have a million things I need to do, most of which never get done. Some things are regular day to day stuff other things I have needed to do for months. So this little section is just a pat on the back for me...

Things accomplished in the last few weeks...

Painted my bedroom and bathroom
put bedroom and bathroom back together(took longer then painting)
stained coffee table
Planned Mckaylees class valentines party
Made a hundred phone calls to get other parents involved
decorated 20 juice boxes for class party
Figured out insurance crap (at least a hundred calls)
Cleaned Bathrooms
Cleaned the girls bedroom (should last another ten minutes)
Made sketches for abc song for Jaycelyn's preschool class (only needed to do for six months and still not finished)
printed pictures from the last 6 months
made calender for 2010 (did it on line nothing crazy, and still don't have it. Hello February.)

I can't believe my baby is one!!! I just kept hoping this day was not going to come... so sad. We had to have his birthday a few days late because of the h1n1 out break out at our house, but when we finally did have has party he had lots of fun. It's a "SUPER" Halloween

I love Halloween! This year my kids were Super Hero's, and they looked so cute expecially their crazy hair compliments of Daddy. That was their favorite part of their costume. Jaycelyn loves to pretend she is "Super Hero". I always know when she is superhero because she insist on calling me Amanda. She plays super hero so often my mom made her a cape for her birthday (that is the pink and black thing she is sleeping on). When she told me she wanted to be superhero for Halloween I decided to make her a pink sparkly mask. As you can see she loves it. She wont take it off even to go to sleep! She is so funny and sweet. I wish they stayed this sweet forever...

Our Trip to California

Our Trip To California was unexpected but some times the best things in life are. It Started with a phone call from my mom, My Grandma had fallen and broken her hip. My mom said she was leaving for California right then. It is an 18 hour drive and she was very upset I didn't want her driving by herself so I woke Ryan up asked him if he was okay if I went and like the sweet good husband he is he got up, got the car ready, new tires, oil changed the works, and we were off. The kids were all really good for that long of a drive I was very impressed! My Grandma came home from the hospital a few days later, and she is doing better but it was really good to spend time with her, and she loved seeing the kids! My sisters and their kids both came up after a week and so we ended up staying for two weeks. We took the kids to the beach every day to play. It turned out to be a really nice trip. And thanks to my sweet husband I came home to a clean house, clean sheets, and clean laundry! He really is the best!!

So once in a while when I am driving I get pretty irritated at other drivers. But I always keep my cool. The most I ever say is "come on you idiot driver". Now I don't think that is to bad. I don't even yell it or anything mostly I just mutter it to myself. Well last night before dinner I asked Jaycee if she wanted milk or water with her dinner and she very calmly told me... "Milk you idiot" I just stood there for a minute pondering the words that just came out of her mouth. Well I explained that wasn't a nice word to say, but holy cow I was in shock!! I guess that goes onto my list of words that I can't say any more, oh well. But it was pretty funny.

Yes I am still alive! I am just tyring to figure out how to manage my time now That Coleston isn't sleeping all day any more. So some things are just not happening anymore like my Blog. My 29th birthday UGGG!

Okay so I know 29 is not that bad but it has been pretty hard for me. I have been dreading this birthday for a year. I guess because it is so close to 30. No more young mom for me. I am now soccer mom age. Every teeny bopper in the world will think I am a relic... I don't know it just stinks getting older. But I am happy about where I am in my life I have three beautiful kids, a husbands who adores me, and the best job in the world a mom. My sweet husband was very sensitive this year of my feelings of getting older. He went out of his way to give me a nice day. He got up and got the kids ready and to school. Then he took us all to see Madagascar ( it was sooo Funny), Then he took us all out to eat at my favorite Chinese restaurant. Then we came home and had the best birthday cake ever (cookie dough ice cream cake YUMM!) SO overall for turning 29 it wasn't a bad day. I got to spend it with the people I love most in this world!

Some times I just feel like the worst mom!! This is the second broken arm in our house in the last year!! Ryan & I have never even had a broken arm and now both of our girls have!! Jaycelyn was playing on the computer with Mckaylee the other day and she fell off her chair. YES that is all it took! It broke both bones above the wrist so now she is in a pink full arm cast. It is amazing how quick kids can adapt to only having one arm. I swear it has not slowed her down one minute, and all I can think is be careful your going to break your other arm!! Oh well, what can you do? She does however look so cute in her pink cast!

Coleston's First Doctors Appointment

Coleston is growing soooo fast! I feel like every morning I wake up he is a little bit bigger! When we were in the hospital after he was born his weight dropped to 5lbs 2oz, well two weeks later he is a healthy 6lbs and 1 oz! He must be a good eater!. He is in the 5% for his weight. He is now 19 3/4 inches long! he is almost in the 50% for length. He is going to be a tall boy! He was very good a the doctors appointment he slept the whole time (I wish he would do that at night!)

It's a BOY!!!!!

Well lets start from the beginning. On Saturday evening the girls and I went to the syracuse pumpkin walk with one of my really good friends Abby and her two cute kids. We were just walking around the park looking at all the cute pumpkins when I start feeling like I am peeing my pants. I am just thinking what the heck so I start clenching trying to stop but it just keeps gushing out. So I tell Abby I think my water broke or I am peeing my pants. At this point I am leaning towards peeing my pants because I am not due for another five weeks. Ryan had just driven to Wendover that afternoon because we both thought for sure it would be fine. So I call Ryan and tell him what happened but to just wait because I probably just peed my pants. So Abby and start cutting threw the line to get out of there. In the mean time she is calling her parents and telling them to come and pick up her kids right now!! I keep telling her its fine and feeling really dumb. We take a shortcut out of there threw the fire department were I ask if I can use there bathroom. When I go in there my pants and under ware are soaked. So I call Ryan and tell him he better come home. Abby is now completely freaking out I keep telling her to calm down it will be OK. ( she is so funny)! Her parents come and get her kids she drives me to my moms to drop the kids off and then we go to the emergency room. Well they admit me and we find out that indeed my water broke and we are going to have a baby. Ryan gets to the hospital in record time and then the wait begins... My water was broken but I wasn't going into labor. My doctor put me on the strongest petosin for over 48 hours along with a cervix softener. After much talk they decide to do a c section. I was a little scared but I felt like it was the right thing to do so on Monday evening our little Coleston Jevin was born at 8:00pm. He weighed 5lbs 8 oz and was 18 1/2 inches. And to our surprise a little boy. Ryan is very proud and Mckaylee and Jaycelyn love him to death. I can't be happier. I feel so blessed to have him in our family, he is the cutest little peanut. He had to go to the n.i.c.u. for just a couple of hours and he has been doing great ever since. After almost a week in the hospital we were able to come home on Halloween. Thanks for all the phone calls and visits from every one sorry it took so long to post.

We just got home from the hospital on the afternoon of Halloween. So it was a pretty busy day. We weren't expecting Coleston for Halloween so his costume is a cute little pumpkin Bennie we got from the hospital. I am so glad I got the girls witches costumes finished before I went into the hospital. They turned out really cute!

last night my water broke so I am at the davis hospital waiting to have this baby!! Its been 12 hours so far and going SLOW. But we are still five weeks early so my body doesn't think it is time. I will let every one know what the baby is as soon as we know. well almost as soon as we know:)

September has kind of seemed like the moth of Mckaylee. It has been so crazy that I haven't even had time to put any of it on my blog. Anyways... I can't believe she is six she is growing up so fast. She is such a good little girl and I love her so much! Mckaylee had a fun birthday party. All of our family that lives in Utah were there. Uncle rod and Aunt Natalie who live in Vegas came. Daddy cooked hamburgers and hot dogs for every one Yummy! The kids painted the cutest lady bugs and played red light green light. Then we had cake and ice cream (special thanks to my mom for decorating it so cute!) and then Mckaylee's favorite opening presents. It was an eventful evening! Thanks to every one who came and all those who helped with the craziness!

For Mckaylee's Birthday we went to Cold Stone to celebrate with Abby Kia and Haden. It was a ton of fun. Mckaylee got to make her own ice cream cone. Then They sang Happy birthday to her, and then they took all of the kids in the back and showed them how they make ice cream and gave them all samples! It was great I would totally do it again! Kai gave Mckaylee a real microphone that sings to songs from High School Musical. She loves it and put on "shows" for hour with impressive dance moves to boot! It is hysterical if only it came with volume control!

Grandma Vickers likes to celebrate her birthday in true grandma fashion. She took all of her grandchildren and children that live in Utah to a fun crazy night at Chucky Cheeses! After dinner and lots of games we all went to Grandma's for cake and Ice cream. The kids had such a good time and you can tell they love their Grandma!

Mckaylee's tooth has been so loose for over a week. She however did not want it to fall out. If any one even got close to wiggle it she would just start crying. I tried every thing on her even holding her down and putting floss around it but as soon as she got up she would some how get the floss off! You have to understand that this tooth is just barley hanging on. I am afraid she is going to swallow it! So one day out of desperation I just start tickling her and telling her at the dame time I am going to wiggle her tooth. Some how magically I bump her tooth and it fell out. She didn't even know it came out until I told her then she cried for a minute. Then she told me I was the best mom ever! silly little girl!

Mckaylee has been playing soccer this fall. The name of her team is the red flames. I'm not really sure that soccer is her sport but the last couple of times she has gotten much better. She use to just run around the kids in a big circle but she almost never kicked the ball. Now she has started to get the idea. she is so funny she closes her eyes before she will enter the clump of kids to try and get the ball. It really cracks me up. She really wants to make a goal at her next game so "GO MCKAYLEE!"

Have you ever had a friend That no matter what is always there for you? a friend that you could not talk to for a year and leave off right where you were? A friend that always understands how your feeling but will always tell you if your being dumb? Mine is Abby we met are sophomore year in high school and she has been my other half ever since. We never get to spend as much time together as we would like to but it is always fun when we do. spur of the moment we decide to take the kids to chucky cheese. We thought it would be nice and relaxing for us and the kids could just go and play. It didn't happen like that, but it was still a blast. Mckaylee said it was the best night ever! Thanks Abby for a fun night and a friendship I can always count on.

So as my husband and family will testify to when I start a project I tend to get obsessed (Just a little...) Well one of my goals has been to catch up on my scrapbooking. I haven't touched a scrapbook page since last December. I know to some that is pretty good, but I wanted to be completely caught up so for almost a week my house has looked like this... A scrapbooking tornado came thew my house! But I have accomplished my goal... 18 layouts! That is pretty crazy for me. They aren't the most magnificent pages ever, but they get the job done! so check one thing off my list of things to do before this baby gets here! YEAH!

YEAH!!!! I had my mid line (I.V.) removed last Monday so I have gone a whole week!! I am so happy!! My midwife has changed some of my medicine around and I am feeling like a real life normal pregnant person! I am still sick occasionally, like when I was walking bug to school and pucked in the bushes (that was embarrassing!!!) oh well. I am walking two miles almost every day which I think is pretty darn good for me. Thanks everyone for all your support and love! 11 weeks left!

The Utah State Fair

Every Sept. we look foward to going to the State Fair. We always have so much fun and Nana and Papa spoil the kids rotten, and Aunt Sissy will do any thing they want!! The girls favorite thing to do at the fair is ride the ponies! Ryan's Aunt Carolee owns the ponies and she is so sweet and lets them ride for free every time!

Mckaylee's First Day of School

Mckaylee has been going to school for a little more then a week now. She has loved it so far. She said her favorite part is recess and she has made like twenty friends. She loves to pick out exactly what she will be wearing for the next day of school. She also loves riding her bike to school (with training wheels:) ) and she hates if I am only a few minutes late picking her up. So far that has happened twice. The last time I had a whole grocery cart of food at Walmart and realized I needed to pick up in five minutes. I left my full cart and ran out to the car we I was about five minutes late and she was not happy! After I picked her up I returned to walmart and found my full cart and slightly warm milk and checked out! I really got to get this thing down a little better:)

New Sticker designs

I am so excited the new stickers I designed just came out! I didn't even know they were done yet so YEAH! These new stickers will be at Hobby Lobby and lots of different scrapbook stores if anybody is interested. I think they turned out pretty cute! I love my job!

These are some of my closest friends! at some point we were all in the same ward together but slowly everyone has started moving away. But we still try to go to lunch or do something fun once a month it doesn't always happen but it is so much fun when we do get together! Love you guys thanks for always being there for me!

Maggie is our Dog and she loves the girls. She is part lab part great Dane and she lets the girls do just about any thing to her. She is their watch dog and doesn't let them to far out of her sight. They were all snuggled up on the couch so cute I had to take this picture.

July 24th Menlove Family Reunion at Bear Lake

Each July 24th we go to Bear Lake for the Menlove Family Reunion. It is one of the high lights of our summer! Mckaylee counts down the days until we get to go. We always have so much fun and this year was no exception. We went boating, and tubing, and jet skiing (yes even me). We roasted marshmallows and the kids made all kinds of crafts. And we ate sooooo good! We also got to see lots of our family that we just don't get to see very often. Rod and Nat, and Joe and Sam with all their cute kids even came from Vegas just to come. It was so fun seeing every one! I Just wanted to tell every one thanks for all hard work so we able to go and have so much fun every year!

One of our favorite things about the reunion at Bear Lake is we get to spend time with Megan. She is so much fun and the girls just love her! Last year Mckaylee called her "Megan, the one with freckles" This year Mckaylee calls her "my Meg" The girls didn't let Megan out of their sight for even a minute (poor Megan :) ). Megan made them both cute little bracelets while we were up there. Mckaylee's just broke and she cried and cried because it was her favorite and her Meg had made it just for her! Mckaylee has also learned how to spell Meg so she can right her letters! Megan thanks so much for being so awesome we love you!

We were so excited Daddy got to come to the Menlove reunion this year! The girls love seeing him and getting to play with him. Daddy loved spending time with all of us to and getting a little time off work. YEAH!!

Rencher Reunion July 4th weekend

We had so much fun up at the homestead. Every where you look is covered with these yellow flowers it is amazing. The Girls picked flowers for hours every day. They thought sleeping in a tent was lots of fun especially because they got to sleep on an air bed with me ( I didn't get so much sleep :) haha oh well). It was fun seeing all my family and getting to know them all again. We cant wait for the next reunion!

Bear Bear (Jaycelyn) had to take her bear Phill camping with us. She took him every where with her. Only a few times did she leave him in our tent to "take a nap". Phill has mostly recovered from his camping trip. He is a little dirtier and needs a few "stitches". But Phill is bear bear's "friend" and she loves him to death what a lucky bear!

JUly 4th weekend Rencher Reunion "Ping Pong Ball Drop"

Every Rencher reunion one of my grandpa's friend flies a plane over the homestead and drops hundreds of ping pong balls out of the plane and into the field for all of the kids to find. for every ball they find they get a piece of candy and if the kids find one of the colored balls they win a special prize. Every one had fun especially Mckaylee and Jaycelyn!

July 4th Weekend Marshmellow Fight

This is my Uncle Mark ( my Dads brother). He is helping Jaycee shoot her marshmallows in the marshmallow fight. Both of Mckaylee and Jaycee think uncle mark is the best and I agree every one had fun playing this funny game.

Mckaylee really got the hang of blowing the little marshmallows out of the pvc pipe. She even hit me a couple of times. This was so much fun. Thanks Mark and Robin for planning it!

July 4th Rencher Reunion at the Rencher Homestead

This is the Rencher Homestead in Idaho. It was homesteaded originally by my Great Grandparents. This was probably my dads favorite place in the whole world. After my Dad died my grandpa and my uncles built this beautiful cabin on the property. It is a very neat place to come and I always feel close to my Dad here.

The girls got these funny glasses from Nanna and they love to wear them!
